Little John is one of Robin Hood's Merry Men and, despite his name, is remembered in folklore as a giant of a man and Robin's trusted second-in-command. His story has been told and retold since the earliest Robin Hood tales, always at Robin's side in Sherwood Forest.

The Royal Mint issued this coin in 2022 as the third and final coin in the original Myths and Legends trilogy, completing the set that began with Robin Hood in 2021 and continued with Maid Marian. The reverse, designed by Jody Clark, shows Little John among the trees of Sherwood Forest holding his iconic quarterstaff. The obverse carries Jody Clark's effigy of Queen Elizabeth II.

Each coin contains one troy ounce of 999 fine silver (31.1 grams), with a diameter of 38.61mm and a £2 face value. As UK legal tender, it's exempt from Capital Gains Tax for UK residents, a benefit that doesn't apply to silver bars or rounds. The Royal Mint has since stopped producing Myths and Legends coins bearing the late Queen's effigy, which adds a further layer of appeal for collectors.

Whether your coin is from the original bullion release, has picked up tarnish, or shows handling marks after a few years in a collection, we'll value it accurately based on its silver content. From a single coin to a full collection, you'll get a fair price and same-day payment from a trusted UK bullion buyer.
