You are required to provide this information by law, and we cannot complete certain transactions without it. Identity verification records are retained for a minimum of five years following the end of a business relationship, in accordance with the Money Laundering Regulations 2017.
Usage Data

CCTV
We operate CCTV systems at our branch premises in Royal Wootton Bassett and Bodmin, and during the handling of items received by post. CCTV is used for security, crime prevention and detection, and to ensure the safe and accurate handling of items we receive.
The lawful basis for operating CCTV is legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). CCTV footage is generally retained for up to 31 days, unless it is required in connection with a specific incident, investigation, or legal matter, in which case it may be retained for longer.

- With Service Providers - third-party companies that help us operate our business, such as website analytics, email marketing, payment processing, and fraud prevention services. These providers act as Data Processors and only process your data on our instructions.
- Within our group of businesses - Gold Traders is part of a group of businesses under common ownership, which also includes RWB Auctions and The Britannia Coin Company. Where relevant, we may share information between these businesses.

Data Retention

- Anti-Money Laundering and identity verification records - retained for a minimum of five years from the end of our business relationship, as required by the Money Laundering Regulations 2017.
