Cash Any Gold Price Match

Compare our prices against your cashanygold.com quote. Use our price match tool to understand what your gold is really worth. If they can't match our price, ask for your gold to be returned.

There's a new freepost cash for gold company on the block called cashanygold.com and they're currently pushing out paid adverts across social media.

As with many other freepost cash for gold companies, they quote a 'best online price guarantee', which we're more than happy to help you test out, if you inadvertently send your gold off and are unhappy with the initial price they offer you.

Their price guarantee states:

"Been offered more elsewhere? At CashAnyGold we guarantee to match, if not beat, any quote you have received from any other online gold buyers.

Any higher offer made must be in writing, including the date the offer was made, the weights and purities of each of the metals included in the quote.

Due to the nature of the industry, please understand that the gold price fluctuates constantly and so your price matched offer will be reflective of the gold price on the day of which we receive your items."

How to challenge CashAnyGold's price

If you've already sent your gold away, but haven't yet accepted their offer, we recommend you follow these simple steps:

  • Hopefully, you already know the weight and purity (carat) of your items. Ask them for an itemised breakdown if you don't have this information.
  • If they can't or won't provide a breakdown of weight and purity, we strongly recommend that you ask to have your items returned.
  • Enter the weight of your items into the relevant fields in the form below, along with your name and email address. Note: We ask you for your details to comply with the price match guarantee—we don't store your information and won't follow-up after you use this service.
  • You will receive a formal written valuation from us, confirming the exact amount we would pay you for that amount of gold.
  • Pass our valuation to CashAnyGold and test their price match guarantee. If they don't match or beat it, ask for your items back.

In the interest of fairness, the price match valuation we send you will quote the absolute lowest price we would pay you for your items. But please remember, there are instances, once we've seen your items, where we pay higher rates.

Here are three examples of the amounts we would pay for the same quantity and purity of gold, depending on its type:

  • 8g of scrap 22ct gold : £506.27
  • 8g 22ct foreign gold coin: £511.65
  • 8g 22ct British gold Sovereign: £515.75

Whilst freepost companies are often keen to hide the genuine rates they pay, we're perfectly happy to publish them and we challenge CashAnyGold to beat them!

As we delve a little deeper into their website, we discover a few other things you should be aware of.

Gold Spot Prices

As with many other freepost cash for gold sites, you might naturally assume the prices per gram quoted on their home page are the prices they pay - after all, they're so prominently displayed on their home page. However, on closer inspection, you'll notice underneath, in much smaller print:

"Percentages we pay are based on volume"

In reality, what they're quoting is the live bullion market 'spot' prices, which is not the rates they actually pay you.

  • Today, 18th February 2025, at this moment, the spot price for 9ct gold is £27.82 per gram
  • Gold Traders is paying £25.91 per gram for 9ct scrap.

During metal trading hours, the spot price for gold is changing all the time. Precious metal dealers will always offer you an amount that is below the spot price, which takes into account their operating costs and a profit margin.

  • The worst cash for gold companies have been found to offer as little as 20% of the real value of the gold their buying.
  • A reputable precious metals dealer will offer you well in excess of 90% of the value for your gold

Hidden Fees

Taking a look at their Terms and Conditions reveals some interesting small print, tucked away & out of immediate sight.

"Parcels of jewellery amounting to less than 10 grams of gold and without significant value will carry an admin fee of £15 for their return."

At the lowest UK purity of 9ct, a 10g parcel of gold is worth £278.21 - This is the live 'spot' value for this quantity of gold. This page updates automatically, so the rate quoted is always up-to-date.

Of course, no dealer will offer you the full value of your gold. They're in business to generate a profit and the processing of scrap gold comes at a cost. However, our gripe with freepost cash for gold companies is they fail to be up-front about the rates they pay, thus preventing a customer from making an informed decision and entirely relying on using convincing marketing strategies to secure your gold.

For transparency, we will pay you £259.08 for 10g of 9ct gold and if for any reason you chose to decline our offer, there'd be no £15 fee for us to return your gold - we do it for free. Again, the price quoted here is always up-to-date. If you visit us, this is the amount you'll receive, right now.

We hope you find our price match tool informative and it helps you achieve a higher price if you've sent your gold away. We welcome feedback, so please get in touch with your experiences if you've used this tool.

We don't know.

As they don't publish the genuine rates they pay, it's impossible to make an informed decision as to whether the do genuinely pay the best price for your gold, as stated on their home page.

Call them on 0207 870 3880 and ask for the prices per gram they pay. If they can't or won't tell you, it should help you decide whether to send your gold to them.

We doubt it, but we recommend you call them to check!

Like many freepost cash for gold companies, their published address, 34-35 Hatton Garden, is post box and serviced office address. Many companies don't actually operate from this address, mail to this address is simply forwarded to another destination.

Being the jewellery capital in London, having a Hatton Garden address can help build legitimacy for a company, even if in reality they're bast hundreds of miles away.
