A town built from golden stone
There's a fitting link between Corsham and what we do. The town is built almost entirely from Bath stone, the honey-gold limestone cut from the quarries beneath its own streets, and for centuries that golden stone made Corsham prosperous. You can still read that history in the long High Street, the Grade II* Flemish Weavers' Houses, and Corsham Court, whose art and treasures once drew visitors from across the country.
Prosperity like that leaves gold behind, in rings, chains, coins and heirlooms handed down through the generations and often forgotten in a drawer. If you've inherited pieces and have no real idea what they're worth, that's exactly what we're here for. Bring them in or send a photo, and we'll go through them one at a time and tell you honestly what each one is.
What happens to your gold after you sell it?
People often ask where their gold goes once they've sold it, and it's a fair question. Most scrap and unwanted gold isn't put back on a shelf and resold as it is. It's refined, melted down and purified back to fine gold that re-enters the market as new bars, coins and jewellery.
We have long-standing links with one of the country's main gold refineries, and that's a big part of how we can pay competitive prices. There's no high-street showroom or storage cost padded into our offer, just the real value of the metal. It also means nothing is wasted: that worn, broken or unfashionable piece you would never wear again becomes the raw material for something new.
Where to find us
Our branch is in Royal Wootton Bassett, about half an hour from Corsham through Chippenham, at 29 High Street. There's no appointment needed and parking is close by. We'll test, weigh and value your gold while you watch, and pay you the same day if you're happy with the offer.
Too far, or too busy for the trip? Sell by post instead. It starts with our online claim form, which gives you a valuation up front. Send your gold in, and we pay within 24 hours of it reaching us. Every parcel is opened and weighed on camera, and if you decide not to go ahead, we send it straight back to you free.

One tip, wherever you sell
Ask for the price per gram before you agree to anything. It's the one number that lets you compare two offers fairly, and a buyer who won't show you the weight, the carat and the maths behind it is one to walk away from. Our full guide to checking an offer is on the Sell Gold in Wiltshire page, and you can test any quote against the real figures with our calculator.
Why people bring their gold to us
- Independently checked. Our prices and process carry Trading Standards' Buy With Confidence approval, a UK first for a precious metals firm.
- The rate is the rate. We show the live market price and the price we actually pay, side by side, so there's nothing hidden in the gap between them.
- Paid quickly. The same day if you visit, within 24 hours if you post, straight to your bank if that suits you.
- No hard sell. If a piece would do better at auction than melted for scrap, we'll say so, through our sister firm RWB Auctions.
