  • Bodmin Branch: Due to some critical maintenance work, our Bodmin branch is unavoidably closed from 19 Oct to 26 Oct. We plan to reopen on 26 Oct. The Bodmin telephone number is still active and we can facilitate home visits for large collections by appointment.

Our counter operating hours at our Royal Wootton Bassett branch are 9:30am to 2:30pm. Can you help us with our campaign to introduce regulation into the precious metals market?

The gateway to Cornwall

Saltash is often called the gateway to Cornwall. Two famous bridges cross the Tamar here: Brunel's Royal Albert Bridge, which opened in 1859 to carry the railway, and the Tamar Bridge, which opened to road traffic in 1961.

Plenty of Saltash people cross that river every day for work. If you live on the Devon side, you're welcome to sell to us too, either at our Bodmin branch or by post.

Rings, chains and the odd earring

Most of what we buy from Saltash is everyday jewellery. Rings that no longer fit, tangled chains, and single earrings that lost their partner years ago.

Broken and damaged pieces are worth their full gold value, so there's no need to repair them first. See more about the gold rings we buy.

Know your price before you seal the envelope

Selling by post is safe and simple, but it changes one thing. Once your gold is in the post, the buyer holds it, and you're waiting for their offer.

If the buyer has already published their rates, that's no problem. You know roughly what's coming. If they haven't, you're relying on whatever number they choose to send back.

Four things to know before you post gold to anyone

  1. Their price per gram for each carat you're sending.
  2. What percentage of the market price that works out as.
  3. What it costs you to get your items back if you say no.
  4. What happens if you don't reply to their offer in time.

We publish our price per gram and our percentage for everyone to see. Today we pay 91.6% of the market price for scrap gold, and if you say no to our offer, we return your items free of charge.
