These bars are pre-owned, so each one has been owned before. The silver hasn't changed. It's exactly the same as the silver in a new bar.

When you order, we send the best value 10oz bar we have in stock. Our pre-owned bars come from a range of recognised refiners, so the size, finish and markings can differ from one bar to the next. Every bar is stamped with its weight and purity.
About condition
Pre-owned bars can show signs of handling, such as light marks or toning. Toning is a natural colour change on the surface of silver. It's only skin deep and doesn't affect how much silver the bar contains.
Packaging
Some bars come to us sealed in their original packaging, and some are loose. However your bar arrives with us, we pack it securely before it's sent.

Our team checks every pre-owned bar before it goes on sale, and we won't sell any bar we can't verify.

Delivery Information
All orders are sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery, fully insured and tracked to your door.
If you order before 1pm on a weekday, we'll normally dispatch your bar the same day, as long as it's in stock. Our pre-owned stock changes regularly, and every bar is checked before it's posted.
You're also welcome to collect. Choose 'Click & Collect' at checkout to avoid postage, and we'll keep your order at our Royal Wootton Bassett branch. We'll email you when it's ready. Please bring official photo ID, such as a passport or driving licence.
Payment is by UK debit card or bank transfer. Credit cards aren't accepted.

VAT on this bar
Buy a new silver bar in the UK and you'll pay VAT at the standard rate on the whole price. As these bars are pre-owned, we sell them under the VAT margin scheme instead, so VAT is only charged on our margin.
Capital Gains Tax
Silver bars aren't legal tender, so they're not exempt from Capital Gains Tax. You'd only pay CGT if you made a profit when selling and your total gains for that tax year were over your annual allowance.
UK legal tender silver coins, such as our best value 1oz Silver Britannias, are exempt from CGT.

Ten ounce bars are made in two main ways. Cast bars are poured into a mould and have a rugged, hand-made look. Minted bars are cut from a sheet of silver and stamped, giving a smooth, polished finish. Our best value stock can include either style.
