About the James Bond bars
The Royal Mint launched its first James Bond bar in 2020, ahead of the release of No Time To Die, the 25th Bond film. It describes it as the world's first James Bond precious metal bar.
A second design followed to mark 50 years since Diamonds Are Forever, the 1971 film that was Sean Connery's last appearance as Bond for EON Productions.
Both designs are officially licensed products, made in partnership with EON Productions Limited and Danjaq.
The designs
Each bar carries The Royal Mint's logo and the 007 logo on one side. The No Time To Die bars show the film's title on the other side, while the Diamonds Are Forever bars show the title with a cascade of diamonds.
All the bars are struck to The Royal Mint's bullion standard with special finishes. The gold bars come in secure 007-branded blister packaging, and each one carries a unique serial number.

James Bond bars and tax
As with most bullion bars, the standard Capital Gains Tax rules apply. CGT is only due if you sell at a profit and your total gains for the tax year are more than your annual allowance.
The gold bars are 999.9 fine, so they count as investment gold and are VAT-free. Silver isn't VAT-free in the UK. New silver bars carry VAT at the standard rate, while pre-owned silver bars are sold under the VAT margin scheme, so VAT is only charged on the dealer's margin.
If you're not sure how tax applies to you, it's worth speaking to a tax adviser.
