• If another company’s quote seems too good to be true, talk to us about it. We can match it or help to point out any hidden catches that we know about.
• Don’t always trust gold buying comparison sites to help with your decision.
• Always read the terms and conditions and customer reviews before you send in your items.
• A good company will have Trading Standards approved scales and CCTV to monitor the process.
• Don’t be afraid to ask for your items or precious stones back - find out how long the cooling off period is and that the return cost is fair, if any.
• If you’re donating to charity, see if they offer more. We add 5%.
• Keep an eye on the live pricing and make sure if the price goes up on the day of receipt, so will your valuation.
• Most people are unsure what they’ve got, so make sure there are no testing fees and you know the cost and process of getting your items returned before you send it in.
• There should be no difference in price for hallmarked and non-hallmarked gold.
• If you need the money fast, make sure they process payments within 24 hours of receipt.
