The reverse design is by Jody Clark, presenting a dramatic and contemporary interpretation of St George's battle with the dragon. The scene is dynamic and unapologetically bold. St George, shown as a Roman soldier, charges forward on his rearing horse, lance poised, while the dragon lies beneath in a moment of defeat. It is an image that immediately communicates motion, conflict, and resolution.
This modern portrayal deliberately echoes the influence of Benedetto Pistrucci's famous sovereign design, perhaps the most celebrated depiction of St George on British coinage. Rather than copying it outright, Clark's version feels heavier, more sculptural, and better suited to the larger canvas of a one-ounce silver coin.
The obverse features the official uncrowned coinage portrait of His Majesty King Charles III by Martin Jennings. This portrait has become the standard across modern UK bullion, bringing consistency and legal tender recognition to contemporary issues. The £2 denomination confirms the coin's status as UK legal tender.
