Product Description

The Royal Mint's Six Decades of 007 bullion range celebrates 60 years of James Bond films, with one coin for each decade from the 1960s to the 2010s. This coin is dedicated to the Bond films of the 1970s.

The design

The reverse, designed by Matt Dent and Christian Davies, shows the Lotus Esprit S1, known to fans as "Wet Nellie" from The Spy Who Loved Me. The design also pays tribute to other 1970s Bond films, including Live And Let Die, Diamonds Are Forever and The Man With The Golden Gun.

The scene is circled by the gun barrel effect that opens every 007 film. The obverse carries the official coinage portrait of King Charles III by Martin Jennings, with the £100 face value.

The range is an officially licensed product, made in partnership with EON Productions Ltd and Danjaq.

For collectors working through the six designs, the Bond of the 1970s coin is the second in the set.
