About the Royal Arms 1oz Silver Coin
The Royal Arms coin was introduced in 2019 as part of The Royal Mint's expanding bullion range. Its reverse features a bold depiction of the UK's royal coat of arms - complete with the lion of England and unicorn of Scotland - intricately engraved in a style that blends tradition and modernity. The obverse features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II (2019–2023) or King Charles III (2024 onwards), depending on the year of issue.
Each coin contains 1 troy ounce (31.1035 grams) of .999 fine silver and carries a £2 face value, offering investors and collectors a government-backed, globally recognised bullion option with a distinctly British identity.
Although newer than some other bullion series, the Royal Arms coin has quickly gained a loyal following. Its design pedigree, high purity, and backing by The Royal Mint make it an appealing alternative to Silver Britannias, and its status as UK legal tender means it is exempt from Capital Gains Tax (CGT) for UK residents.
We regularly buy coins from the full Royal Arms series, including individual pieces, full tubes (25 coins), or larger collections. Whatever quantity you hold, we'll offer a competitive rate, matched to the live silver price.
