Product Description
The Queen's Beasts 1oz Gold Bullion Bar is more than just a precious metal investment; it's a modern tribute to centuries of British heraldry, crafted by The Royal Mint with extraordinary attention to detail. Released in a strictly limited mintage of 5,000, this square-format bar is the final act in the acclaimed Queen's Beasts series, which began with coins and now culminates in this elegant gold bar.
At its centre is the youthful effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Mary Gillick, the very first portrait used on UK coinage following Her Majesty's accession in 1952. Around this central motif, the ten Queen's Beasts form a protective ring - from the Lion of England to the Griffin of Edward III, each rendered in bold, brilliant relief. Together, they symbolise the strength and lineage of the British monarchy, echoed in the floral emblems beneath - the rose, thistle, shamrock and daffodil, drawn from the 1953 Coronation Crown.
The bar itself is precision-minted in 999.9 fine gold and weighs exactly one troy ounce (31.1 grams). It measures 32mm x 32mm and features a milled edge. Each bar is sealed in official Royal Mint blister packaging, which includes a unique serial number and assay assurance.
This bar blends collectability with long-term investment appeal. Quantities are extremely limited - once these 5,000 are gone, they're gone for good.

Denomination Information
The Queen's Beasts are a series of ten heraldic figures that trace the lineage of Queen Elizabeth II, each one steeped in history and symbolism. Originally sculpted for Her Majesty's coronation in 1953, they stood as towering statues outside Westminster Abbey - silent sentinels of monarchy and tradition.
The beasts themselves hail from centuries of British history. From the Unicorn of Scotland to the Red Dragon of Wales, they represent noble houses, royal claims, and ancient mythologies. The Royal Mint brought these figures to life through a celebrated bullion coin series between 2016 and 2021. The final release, the 'Completer', depicted all ten together - and now, for the first time, they appear united again on this exquisitely minted gold bar.
At the centre of this tribute is Mary Gillick's 1953 portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, a design that marked the start of a new reign and appeared on UK coins until just before decimalisation. Gillick, a distinguished sculptor and medallist, was chosen for the honour in her early seventies. Her laurel-wreathed portrait is a timeless image of youthful monarchy, and an emblem of an extraordinary reign.
